Some cars are just so special they cannot be placed anywhere else on the website. Take the following car for example. In 1988 Volvo made two prototypes for the U.S. market. They were painted in a nice red metallic colour that would not be available for several years: Flame Red, known in the U.K. as Burgundy Red!
There are lots of other parts of this beauty that will get your attention. The most remarkable thing is probably the interiour, pluche beige seats and beige interiour panels! Currently only three Volvo 480 with a beige interiour are known to us: the first two are practically identical, flame red 1988 Turbo prototypes. One of them sadly got shredded and the other survived and is in the hands of a caring owner. The third was owned by a woman who lived in Limburg, The Netherlands and is now owned by a person in Hoek Van Holland, The Netherlands. If you ever get the chance to buy a 480 with a beige interiour: grab it!
Now, if we inspect the car closer we can see U.S. bumpers on the car, the rear-bumper has a very narrow registration-plate space especially for U.S. plates. The parking lights at the front are covered with orange covers. We can also tell you that the warning sound when you leave your lights on also sounds totally different, a bit like when repeating the sound you hear when the 'fasten seatbelts' light in an airplane goes on.
